You are usually here because

01The books close six weeks after month end, if at all, and the numbers change every time you look at them.
02The bank wants quarterly reports and a covenant calculation, and producing them takes your week.
03You are two or three years from a sale and a buyer will want three years of clean, consistent statements.

02Scope

What you get each month

NumberItemWhat it covers
01The closeBooks closed by the 15th business day, with reconciled bank, credit card, payroll and loan accounts.
02Management reportsA short package: income statement against budget, balance sheet, cash and a one-page commentary written for an owner, not an accountant.
03Lender reportingCovenant calculations and the quarterly package your bank asks for, delivered before they ask.
04ProjectionsA rolling 13-week cash forecast and an annual budget, updated as the year moves.
05Tax readinessBooks that are ready for the return in January, and estimates calculated from real results.
06A named directorHannah leads the account and attends your monthly review. The same two people work your file every month.

03How it runs

Who it fits

Companies between roughly $3M and $40M in revenue with a bookkeeper or office manager keeping the books, an owner doing the analysis at night, and decisions waiting on numbers that are not ready. Typically manufacturers, contractors, practices and professional firms.

It is not a bookkeeping service. We work with your bookkeeper, or provide one, and add the controller layer on top: close discipline, reporting, forecasting and the conversation with your bank.

04Specifics

How it connects to tax and audit

  • Books closed monthly make the April return a confirmation, not a reconstruction, and make the October planning meeting useful.
  • If an audit or review is in your future, clean monthly closes are the single biggest driver of a faster, cheaper engagement. The audit team is in the next office.
  • For a sale, three years of consistent statements and a credible forecast are what a buyer's diligence team asks for first. We build them so they hold up.

FAQBefore you call

Questions owners ask before they call

01Do we keep our bookkeeper?

In most cases, yes. We set the process, review their work and own the close. If you do not have one, or they leave, we provide the bookkeeping layer as well.

02Which accounting software do you work with?

QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Sage Intacct and NetSuite most often, plus the job-costing and practice-management systems that feed them. We do not require you to switch systems to work with us.

03How is the monthly fee set?

From the assessment: transaction volume, number of entities, reporting required and the state of the books. It is fixed in the letter and reviewed once a year, not when a busy month comes along.

04Is this the same as a fractional CFO?

It overlaps. We provide the controller function: close, reporting, forecasting and lender work. Strategic finance questions (pricing, financing, acquisitions) are handled with the partners as part of the engagement, scoped when they arise.
